Because I do. Technically, I should still be somewhere in the vicinity of my physical prime right now, but I'm finding that I can't run as fast, stop as fast, jump as high, last as long or generally stop myself from feeling wonky like I used to.
What used to come easy now seems like an arduous effort.
Or maybe I'm just mad my jumper is rusty, having not really been on the court in a few weeks.
Still. Damn you, time.

I remember the days when i was the eager 17 year old on a team full late 20 somethingers. Now i'm the late 20 somethinger and there are 17 year olds on my girls team... sigh...

I'm not sure that's an age thing so much as a lack of practice thing.
But seriously, guess what happens when you put on weight and lose muscle mass at the same time?
Your off-court training is just as important as the on-court stuff, especially when it comes to injury prevention.
